Thank You 2017

Poem

Thank you 2017

Thank you 2017
For all the trials and pains
For all the joys and laughters
For the victories and successes you've brought.

Thank you 2017
For the hugs and kisses
For every handshake
Of every friend new and old
For every song and melody
That made my heart to leap

Thank you 2017
For every memory to cherish
For every milestone that I had reached
And for every pray'r that was answered.

Thank you 2017
For every lesson learned
For every rise from every  fall
For the strength to carry on
And for the hope to hold on.

For all of these, 2017 Thank you!

The Bat
Saturday, June 22, 2013
11:14 PM

Early this morning my husband showed a tiny baby bat sleeping tight hanging on the roof of his  left  slipper. I was so amazed watching this little creature with its  hand holding the rubber tight while its shoulders cover its eyes too closely. It is sleeping so soundly, undisturbed by the sound of its surrounding. I can see a deep sense of calmness on this tiny mammal.
I understand that bats are nocturnal, so I kept inside our house in a corner undisturbed and free from the danger of predator.
I was so excited to see the dusk approaching until it is already dark. The baby is still un awake. Until I heard a sound of a flying creature which I thought at first as bird. Until I see it coming inside. It directly proceeded to the location of her pity little baby bat. Wow! I was surprised about her action. A mother love  so tender . She awaken the baby bat, embraced it tightly and fed it from her breast. I carefully watched the mother and child scene in deep wonders and admiration.
After some few minutes, the mother decided to leave carrying her young beneath her wings. It was so admirable. But fate was not so good for them this night. As the mother flew eastward in the direction of the window , she missed her only chance of escape. She was dropped on the wet chair and her baby on the floor while my pet Orange , the little cat who is always on guard for any prey immediately caught   the mammal, eagerly hold it between its claws and threw it consecutive bites which I was not able to do anything to save the pitiful Bat.
My tears seem falling as I look at the Mother Bat being gnawed by the Cat. I carefully search to look for the baby mammal when I found it on the floor two-feet away the cat. I hold the little mammal gently. As  I release it to the wild, I just whisper to it and say " I'm sorry, I was not able to save your mother. Hope you will survive."
With a small flashlight, I search the grasses. Until in the thick leaves, I found the remains of the mother bat. Lifeless and cold...her body is pale and hard. I can feel the pain that the baby suffers upon loosing his only hope-his mother. The one whom he depends on and rely for his survival in the world where only the strong ones can survive. How can a little bat like survive? If even to look his own food he does not know? This time...who will come to feed him? Whose wings will carry him for another time to fly? I just wish and hope he has a responsible father to come for his rescue because I myself has nothing can do to help him. I am not a bat...I am not keen to understand his cry...to attend to his needs. I have nothing can do...but to wish him well. But his mother will always be a heroine so good to remember.
We don't to be an animal to understand them... It only takes an open heart to love animals on their unique ways. They are simply God's miracle working wonders in every little creature.

Lesson from Ants

I arrived at my classroom before the class start. I sat on my chair facing my table. I noticed some winged creatures beneath the plastic covering the surface of my table. They are winged ants who were trapped inside the plastic cover. My heart was saddened in pity of these little creatures. They are worker ants in old age. They are in these last moments of life to have their magnificent flight and dance with the lights the night before they die. But since they were trapped, they were not able to utilized the long awaited appearance of their wings after having work so hard all their lives.
There is no such loneliness and disappointment in such experience. To have wings but were not used in flying until their gone. Wings by which you have worked so hard just to have them, by which you endured all the necessary disciplines and sacrifices in exchange of them. Wings that you have fought for just to won them. After enduring all the weights and loads of submission and obedience to authorities just for them. After living such life of utmost values and abstinence even up to depriving your own self with the happiness and cheers of youth.  Those wings were the reason why you did not give up despite of the difficulties of the road and path you took. Then after all, you’ve found out, they were not meant for flying but just to fall on the ground and be lost in the dust of the earth?
It indeed caused me so much sadness. Knowing that these ants have whispered something in my thoughts beyond what the real ears could hear and understand. As I looked at them falling on the floor one by one, while trying to flap their little wings. But their wings were dropping one by one too. My heart was filled with pity. But just like what I have said, they have told me something. A lesson that I need to think over and over. They said “You’re not an ant like us, don’t waste your wings. Fly high as you can... just flap them over and over ...never be tired...just keep going.”

Lesson From Cats

I love cats! They are so affectionate beings. In this photo are my pets Jaguar( the big one) and Orange(the small one). I really enjoy watching them everyday. They have their own unique gestures of showing love to theirsiblings. Jaguar and Orange are brothers. Jaguar is older than Orange. Their friendship indeed is really wonderful. Watching them playing together brings me relief from the stress of daily work.
One day, my little girl niece asked me. "Auntie, why do you love animals and flowers so much?" I said to her "Animals and plants have unique characteristics
of  returning love to you as you care for them."
